Here are some great tips and tricks to help you get going.
Make sure you read it all to become a top model.
These tips are from top webcam models who are earning up to a million dollars a year.
There observations and what they have learned from experience!
10 BASIC TIPS
1. I always like to say hello to any customer that comes into my free chat and ask them how they are. Just basic politeness and very easy to do!
2. I think that smiling at customers when they come into my free chat room is also very important. Again very easy to do! I have seen other girls who never smile and they never get many privates as well!
3. I try and vary my outfits on a daily basis. I like to wear different colored bikinis, g strings, sexy shoes etc. The more varied the better! Also make sure you have some toys, oils readily available.
4. Let your customers know that you have two wayaudio/video in private chat! Sometimes I like to turn it on in free chat a bit, just to tease them into private chat more!
5. Make sure the lighting where you work is good. Not too bright but not too dark.
6. When I am in private chat, I will always show them my tits after about 1 minute of normal chatting (unless they actually want to just chat normally). I don’t like to keep my customers waiting too long in private chat, it’s not good!
7. I like to keep a regular schedule and try and go online the same time every day. That way my customers know when and where to see me.
8. Ensure that your webcam is in a good place to show you off to your full potential. Try and make eye contact with your webcam as much as possible too.
9. Never swear at your customers or speak badly to them. It doesn’t look good, just kick or ban them if necessary.
10. Lastly, try and have fun! Don’t take it too seriously and you can have fun when you are earning some good money!
MOST IMPORTANT
There is a lot of money to be made caming, but make no mistake, there’s work to be done. High-earning cam models need to manage a lot of things at once. You need to be aware of your per-minute price, frequent chatters, messages, camera angle, lighting, audio, and schedule! We’d like to give you a quick run through here of the little things that can help you stay on track for earning those huge payments! Look through the following tips for some incredible earning advice.
CAMERA ANGLE
Think of your camera frame as that great picture you’re taking. Your frame is your first impression with paying customers. Be sure to glance at yourself from time to time and make sure those angles are perfect!
choose a few places that you get a great shot from so you can move your camera around while doing shows.
Remember your the star of the show and you want to give yourself the best camera shot.(For more click camera)
LIGHTING
Lighting is the most important thing to a cam model. It can make or break your shot. Always have your lighting coming from behind the cam and never pointing into the cam. The more light you can be in the brighter your screen will look to attract more customers. Your customers are visual, that’s why they’re here. Use great lighting and attract more traffic and for longer.
AUDIO
Talk! Models that are talkative and use customer names earn WAY more money. You need to show them you’re giving them attention. It can be hard to break out of your shell at first but keep in mind that you are discreet! At any of the sites on the sign up page your identity is FULLY protected so the customers have zero chance of knowing who you are so there’s no reason to be shy. Try playing some music softly in the background to get attention as well, this can help kill some dead air.
SCHEDULE
You create your own schedule and you work when you want! We want our cam models to get pulled into paid chats as quickly as possible. There’s nothing that helps you do this more than having a solid schedule. Customers actually set alarms for models they like to come on. Think about it, the second you come on, your loyal customers are lining up to jump in paid with you.
Speaking and typing English is essential. Most of the world speaks it, so should you. Additonal languages are great, but the primary language of most adult webcam chats is English.
Get on cam to have FUN. Don’t get on with an attitude or goal to Make Money. Focus on having fun, and you will make plenty of money.
Always have props, toys etc. close by. Also any changes to your outfit close by. Don’t ever make your guests wait for you. Go “off cam” to go get something.
Letting your clients always know when you will be back whether its hours from now, or tommorow, give them a time and date, and you’ll be surprised how many come back to see you exactly the time you told them. Another thing, don’t tell them a time and then be late.
Use customers nickname, but you will often want to resize it down to something easier if its too long. Just make sure they know who your talking about if you shortened their name. Also, learn their real name, memorize or write it down, and use it often when they come back so they will be impressed that you remembered them.
Its important to have your hair, makeup and clothing in proper order. Remember, its called webcam modeling, so you do need to be presentable and be beautiful on cam. Don’t show up with wet hair, no makeup and look like you just came in from the pool. You want to make an impression the first time.
Its important not to give too much attention to one guy in your chat room, when you have many in there. It can be tough, but you will need to determine from 2-3 who will most likely take you private. You can tell this by their interest, but often times the silent type will take you private when you have several guys talking and very interested. So look for the silent guy just watching, sometimes he’s much more interested than you think.
Keep your microphone on. Its much easier to be able to talk to 7 or 8 guys than the almost impossible task of typing to them all.
You will want to always be wearing very sexy outfits and lingerie. You will want to keep switching them out so your clients will see you in different outfits. You should stay away from black, white and skin tone lingerie, as they do not look good on cam. Webcams like bright colors like green, blue, orange, yellow, red and pink. These colors look good on cam. Try to contrast your outfit color with the bedsheet or comforter so it enhances the color of your outfit, not hides it.
1. Be well rested. Sleep is important for your shows. If you’ve had no sleep, it shows. You’re energetic and thus you give your viewers energy. But when you’re tired and in zombie-mode, you’re not really going to get too far.
2. Eat and hydrate. Food and drinks can make you have a great show. In the past I’ve done shows where I haven’t eaten all day and I’m miserable. Without food you have no stamina, to have an orgasmic show you need food, drink and a multi vita.
3. Adjust the temperature. Not a lot of people think that temperature can affect your stamina, your hydration, even your mind-set. Being too hot and stuffy can make you dehydrated thus making it increasingly difficult to have a decent cum show. So stick on the air conditioning and cool down a bit before broadcasting. Same goes for being too cold, so just make sure you’re comfortable.
4. Smile! This one is evident to working whilst smiles make the world go round and show you’re in a good mood, yes a fake smile is easy to spot. Never go on without being in a good mood. A bad mood makes a bad show.
5. Sort out the technical stuff. Make sure everything is working: clean your cache, make sure your computer is running smoothly, test your Internet connection, and make sure your camera and audio feed are working.
6. Stand out from the crowd. This is especially important: “the sea of models.” Rise up from the sea by standing out. Don’t just sit there , like the rest , seductive dance ,panties that vibrate from the sound of tipping, just stand out. Wearing red stands out too whether it be lipstick, panties, dildos, nipple clamps red will stand out from the crowd , it may have something to do with the fact that lust is symbolized by the colour red.
7. Don’t Spam. I have seen it done many times where I have gone into a room and then instantly getting a private message along the lines of “ pvt me bb,” several times in the space of thirty seconds it is annoying as hell to the viewers don’t do it.
8. Don’t play the favorite. Every performer has their high tippers and granted you can welcome them into the room, thank them for tips etc. but do not only direct attention to that one person. I have been in that position before and it’s stressful. To keep all viewers coming back: treat them all equally.
9. Don’t beg for tips. Most people are webcam models to make money, and you’ll notice that the girls that make the most money don’t beg for the tokens. Instead they set the goal and let the show flow, because they know that on somedays they may have tokens raining in and on other they may be dry.
10. Don’t focus on viewer count. Viewers are good whether you’re a newbie or experienced as they can determine how noticeable you are on the site, but if you pay attention to just that goes in and out of a room your viewers will surely loose there buzz and leave.
Becoming a true success story and earning a terrific income takes time, commitment and hard work. It’s true for webcam modeling just as it’s true for any other career. Models signing up for an effortless, get-rich-quick opportunity will only find disappointment ahead. If you’re a hard worker, have a naughty side, and enjoy chatting to new people, you may just have what it takes to become a successful webcam model!
The first thing you’ll need is the proper equipment. If you don’t have a computer, camera, high speed internet, microphone, and proper lighting, you won’t be able to make decent money. Customers aren’t likely to pay for a show with a model they can’t see or hear well; and, they’ll go elsewhere. You’ll also need a comfortable place to perform, sexy outfits, and at least a couple of your favorite toys. We recommend performing on a bed decorated with a bedspread and mellow backdrop which doesn’t distract from the scene. Models performing from their office chairs amongst a room full of clutter will have difficulty competing.
Just as importantly, you’ll need a strong desire to succeed. While we’ll be there to guide you along the way, this will be your business. You’re the boss! If you’re not self motivated and driven, your business will fail. Top models put in between 30-40 hours per week. They set and keep a work schedule so their regular customers know when to find them online. They take the time to answer customer emails and they have an attractive set up with all the props. What really makes a top model is the ambition to never give up, to have patience and a big smile when business is slow, and the presence of mind to treat webcam modeling like any other business.
Lastly, a successful webcam model likes what they do. They enjoy their time online and it shows! A good webcam model is highly flirtatious and truly desires to get to know their clients. They make their customers feel special and understand that this business is all about a solid fan base (some customers spend over $250K per year with their favorite few models). The more time you put in online providing quality entertainment, the more customers you’ll get to know, and the quicker you’ll build a following that will come back to see you again and again.
CUSTOMERS
The majority of comments made by a webcam model in the open room should be directed towards the room as a group, while some should be focused on individual attention. One of the best ways to control customers is to not give anyone in free chat too much individual attention.
Comments to the group as a whole should have a very subtle message, “If you want my individual attention, buy a private show to get it”. Yes, you will have to chat a little to get everyone in the room going, but the less chat directed at any individual person, the better! Acknowledging every new guest when they first enter your chat room is also very important, and it will make them hang around for more. Remember, even if a new guest’s first comment is something like, “Show me your tits”, you can let him know you see him with a simple, tolerating reply like “Hey, are you gonna say hi to me first (insert theit chat nickname)?”. Now they know you saw them, and you have a positive and open minded attitude by not being offended at their remark. After that, just continue talking to the group, and of course pay no more attention to that person unless he earns it.
Use as much humor as possible in your replies, and try to have a positive attitude with everyone. Talk to the group as a whole, and try to give any single guest more time than others. The main role that you play as a webcam model should be that first and foremost, you are there to have fun and meet people, not just to have a webcam job. You should project the impression that you are just naturally horny, and do webcam modeling mostly for fun. It is very important that your guests and customers believe this, as the more they do, the more money you will make. Below are suggestions for comments you should be making in free chat. These are just some good examples to get you started, but as you get more experience, you will come up with many more good ones that are your own. If you feel you have struck a nerve with a guest with one of your comments, continue with it, and let them join in on your fantasy until they can’t resist any longer and want to take you to private chat.
Dialogue suggestions which have been great openers to turn free chat guests into paying customers
– I am soooo horny right now, I could cum in 2 minutes! All I need is someone to fuck me!
– I have been dreaming about sex all night long, and I am soooo horny right now!
– I’m going crazy, all I want to do is cum!
– I haven’t cum once today. Who wants to give me my first orgasm?
– Who wants to fuck me?
– It turns me on soooo much knowing all you guys are horny and want to fuck me!
– My pussy is soooo hot and tight, it feels soooo good to fuck!
– I just broke up with my boyfriend, and I need a rebound guy to really fuck me hard!
– I haven’t cum in like 5 days. I’m going crazy!!!
– I’m such a slut, all I do is fuck fuck fuck!
– I’ve been such a bad girl today, all I can think about is getting naked.
Obviously, these are just some examples, you should improvise, and use your imagination! As you get good, you will become quick and witty with a right comeback for almost any situation. Remember, you are the star of the show, and are giving a performance. Try to make it as exciting, playful and sexy as you can in your own way and on your terms! As long as you appear relaxed, easy going and open minded, you will never have a shortage of paying customers!
WORDS A WEBCAM MODEL SHOULD NEVER USE
Bad words are words that turn customers off and drive them away. The way you talk or word your chat messages can make or break your effectiveness as a webcam model. Here are some words which you should avoid using while working.
Time. No need to say time. Chat monitors make everyone aware of it, so there is no need to bring it up. When you catch yourself about to type a bad word, stop, and type something else. Be creative, as there are more than one way to convey the same message.
Buy. No need to use the word, buy. The trick is to not bring up the thought of spending money. Instead, you should manipulate their need to feel good or get off, but not to open up their wallet.
Along with bad words often goes the pressure from you to make them buy. Imagine this scenario, a person goes into a strip club, and before he can look around and get a feel for the club, an anxious dancer comes up to him and grabs his hand and starts dragging him to the lap dance couches.
What does he do? He says no! He wants to see the place, get comfortable, and check out all the dancers first, not go with the first girl who is being pushy. Having a webcam job is very similar, except instead of grabbing his hand, you would shout “BUY”!
Answering your customers with instant demands for them to buy a private show is usually the kiss of death to selling paid chats. No one likes a pushy webcam model, and very few customers spend money on pushy models. Just because you have demanders and beggars in your chat room doesn’t mean you should answer with begging and demanding. If there was ever a case of two wrongs don’t make a right, this is it! Be better than your customers in your attitude, and don’t stoop to their levels or methods. They will respect you for it, and reward you wil buying your private shows.
MAXIMIZING YOUR EARNING POTENTIAL
FRENZY. Frenzy is the number of members in your free chat that are going nuts to see you naked, do certain acts, get to know you, typing in “CAPS” to get your attention, etc. Selling shows is a numbers game. The more visitors you can keep in your chat, the better.
We see your room having two doors…one where they enter and one where they exit. Let’s talk about how to close the exit door. Holding interest will effectively close the exit door and cause your User Count to go up. How do you hold interest? It’s not so hard, if you are actively posing, showing off and talking with some erotic overtones. Remember, this is a site based on SEX and bringing the subject back to SEX in subtle ways is critical to maintain User Count.
Good Frenzy is a lot of room visitors chatting at a fast pace, asking for everything under the sun. The more excited they are the more you will sell.
We want to suggest that the best way to control your room is to let the comments fly, fast and furious. Do not attempt to control the chatters’ styles or whether or not they type in “CAPS” or lower case. You may have a brand new member that has no chat experience that has purchased 10, 20 or 30 minutes of time for a 1on1 show. Pissing off that new User by telling them to drop their “CAPS” could cost you a long show and a lot of minutes. Would you rather have all calm chatters typing in lower case or be selling more minutes and not caring about “CAPS” or the overall
Frenzy in your room?
The more Frenzy you drive the more brains you affect. Let’s face it, at $6 per minute of show time we MUST get their brains out of their heads!
Men see their wives, girlfriends, secretaries and coworkers sit and type or do bills or watch TV every day, give them a reason to stay in your room that they cannot find in their real lives.
CHAT MIXTURE. Why is it good to talk to the room as a group? We think 75% comments to the room as a group and 25% to individuals is a good mix. One of the best ways to control the chatters is to not pay each person too much attention. Comments to the group as a whole convey a very subtle message, and that message is; “If you want my individual attention, buy a 1on1 Private to get it.” We’re not saying don’t chat with the Free Chat people, but we are saying less chat directed at each individual person is a good thing. Acknowledging the new guy that just enters your chat room is very good. Even if his first comment is, “Show me your pussy, you can let him know you see him with a simple, tolerating reply like “jeez NEW USER, aren’t you going to say Hi first?” At least they know you sCHAT MIXTURE. After that, continue talking to the group.
Use HUMOR and a POSITIVE approach. We like the style of talking to the group as a whole, with less emphasis on individual chat because of the tone it sets. The message is: “I’m not here to make money; I’m just naturally horny and do this to get off.” It is truly amazing what the chatters will believe! We’re going to list some comments that we think are good things to say to the group. The things you say to the room, as a group is limitless. If you strike a nerve with the chatters with one of your “come on” comments…run with it for all it’s worth, and let the chatters join in your “fake” fantasy. Below are a few examples:
·“I just took a nap and got online….I woke up so freakin’ horny!!!”
·“I can’t wait to get in a private show…I’m so horny I’m gonna cum in 5 minutes.”
·“I’m going to treat my next private show to some close-ups my doctor’s never even seen.”
·“Who is a good enough cyber-lover in here to make me cum in a show tonight?”
·“I love knowing you are all getting hot watching me…I’m such an exhibitionist!”
·“mmmm, can’t wait to get in a show tonight, I love being told what to do.”
·“Are there any older men here? I have this new fantasy about older guys!”
·“I’ve been so bad…I was fantasizing about meeting one of you and letting you have your way with me….hehehe”
NEVER SAY “NO” in your chat rooms! This is so important and it takes creativity on your part to answer all questions with positive responses. We know it sounds impossible to always say yes, so let us give some examples of how to say “yes” to chatters’ questions (even when your REAL answer is no.) Remember, the idea is to get them in private, you can sweat the details after they are in the show. Examples:
CharlieChatter: “Do you do anal?” (Let’s assume here that you don’t do anal)
Model: “Charlie, I’m an anal virgin, will you go slow with me in a private show if I try for you?”
CharlieChatter: “Do you fist in private?”
Model: “Charlie, I can try for you, so far I can only do 3 fingers.”
CharlieChatter: “What’s your email address?”
Model: “Charlie, I only give my email address to my customers, I send them special surprises.”
HANGERS ON. What are they? Hangers On are chatters that fall in love with you and spend every waking moment in your chat, but they NEVER buy a private show. How do you handle a Hanger On type person? The first is to stay polite but not give too much attention. Give just enough to keep them interested and coming back. Time works wonders for Hangers On. They tend to be slow to decide on signing up on the site. They have common fears about credit card security on the web, they may be on a limited budget, and they may just not “believe” in sex that “isn’t the real thing.” I’m sure you’ve heard all the excuses from Hangers On types. Here are a few different ways to handle these hard-to-sell people.
Just stay nice. Don’t put too much attention on them and see if time works, and they eventually sign up and purchase credits. This is tricky because the more attention you give them, the happier they are not buying anything.
After giving them some special attention to bolster their egos, try this little trick:
o “Charlie, want to play a game with me?” (They will always say yes) “Okay Charlie, I’m going to put you on a chat time out until you sign up and get a show…;)” Make sure they see you giggling. If you try this, you need HUMOR with it.
Tell the customer how sweet they are and you understand how difficult it is to sign up and buy a show. Try to recruit them to help you sell your private shows. They’ll jump on this until they realize there is nothing in it for them.
Work one Hanger On against another. Jealousy works wonders.
RUDE CUSTOMERS. No need to explain to you what a Rude Customer is. You’ve seen all kinds of them in your chat. This suggestion is radical and takes some amount of pride swallowing but it’s very effective and you will ultimately win. Rude Customers are all looking for the same thing:
ATTENTION. They go for the negative attention and one reason they act like this is that they are so good at getting what they want, and that is negative attention. What you have going for you though is the fact that all Rude Customers are children at heart, immature people that are easily controlled with some creative thinking. Try this once; it will work 9 times out of 10. We know your first impulse is to kick them out, but…try this formula. Compliment their behavior and then ask a personal question. For example:
RUDECUSTOMER: “SHOW ME YOUR PUSSY BITCH!!!”
MODEL: “Oh my! You are so demanding….I like that, where are you from?”
We can almost guarantee this will catch them off-guard. It is the VERY last thing they expected to hear from you. The typical answer they give to this response is “I’m from Chicago, why?” They are totally dumbfounded and you have just taken control. This is much easier than doing what we call “Swatting a Hornet.” When you take the negative approach with them and bitch them out and kick them out of your chat, they come back being more of an asshole and even more annoying. It’s a lot more fun to control these types than escalate a fight with them. ALWAYS REMAIN
POSITIVE AND HAPPY ON CAMERA.
ACTING versus MODELING. We can’t tell you how many times we’ve come in a model’s chat to see her complaining to her/his room visitors about how slow it is or how cheap they are or sitting looking bored and sad. Who in their right mind is going to spend $6 per minute on a girl that is sitting there all angry and upset? You have to act, and it has to be an Oscar performance. The chatters cannot know you are upset or feeling down.
THEY WANT HAPPY GIRLS.
Imagine this: a guy has a girl, or wife that’s all grumpy and bitchy. He waits for her to go to bed so he can get online and enjoy some hot girls. He goes in your room and he sees you chatting about your problems! EXIT stage left!! He’s gone and so is his $$$. We expect every model to be an actor/actress and not to let the room chatters know you are unhappy or upset. If you cannot act fresh, cheerful and sexy, sign off and come back on when you can put on a happy, sexy face.
GAME: How many of your chatters and show buyers think they have good game? We’d say it’s right around 100%. What is your game? Is your game working? Do you always have a game plan in mind when you work your chat?
The money is in LONELY MEN and not horny men. If you notice any of the models you see that are in a long 1on1 show, you will notice the shows are usually talk shows, lots of typing with their outfits still on. There is a reason for that and the reason is the buyer is lonely and wants to talk. What do lonely buyers fantasize about? The lonely show buyer’s fantasies are different than the sex show buyer’s fantasies.
Lonely buyers fantasize about having a girl like you, about dating you, courting you and maybe even being married to you. They want to introduce you to their friends, show you off and go out on the town with you on their arm. Lonely men do not want to end the show if they still have hope of reaching their fantasies. Sex show buyers on the other hand, masturbate and then leave. Appealing to the Lonely Buyer type is easy. ACT SINGLE! The game of acting single has to be subtle and coy. If you come on too strong they know you’re working them.
Men will refuse to believe you are single even if you are. But, they do believe that you are going through a breakup. Everyone can relate to that because most everyone goes through breakups or knows someone that has. If your room has a low key, underlying message of “I’m single and looking” that’s the best game you can put down. It will over time attract some lonely buyers, and with that comes longer shows with less physical work, more minutes and more $$$.
WHERE ARE THE BUYERS???? How do you know if a chatter has an account? Are most buyers talking in Free Chat or lurking on the sidelines?
How do you identify someone who will spend money? What age is the average buyer? How do you know whom to target? With the system not having a way for models to see who is a member and who isn’t it’s hard to know who to concentrate on and who to ignore. We will attempt to shed some light on where the buyers are and how to bring them in to chat with you.
Our statistics show that only about 15% of the chatters actually buy shows. That means two things: 85% of chatters do not buy. It also means that the majority of your buyers don’t ever talk in Free Chat! This is exactly why it’s so important how you respond to the chatter, you need to impress the buyers that are lurking in your room but staying quiet and not chatting. We can’t stress enough how important it is for you to realize that most buyers don’t chat in the Free Chat. Post a big sign on your monitor “I AM CHATTING TO IMPRESS THE NON CHATTERS.” This will remind you that most buyers do NOT chat in the Free Chat. They simply “window shop” and they browse the rooms until they find a model worth going private with.
OK, let’s address how to flush out members and buyers. There are a few things you can do:
Talk to someone that’s not chatting and say something like this: “Hey all you Non-Chatters, don’t hide. Come talk to me. Don’t be shy”
A customer is talking to you and being kind and gentlemanly. Ask him this: “You’re sweet CharlieGentleman, have you ever bought a show from the site before?” The wording here is very important. You are not asking him to buy from you, you are merely asking if he’s bought a show on the site before. Guys tend to answer this question honestly because it’s not a direct request for them to buy. His answer is very telling. A ‘no’ answer means he is probably not a member and you can work him from that angle. A ‘yes’ answer means he is a member and he is a good prospect to work on.
BUZZWORDS. Are there words that just turn you off? We bet we could write 10 here that are an instant turn off for you. The “C” word for example, a lot of models hate it. Do you think there are words the potential buyers hate to see the models use? You bet there are! We’ll list some of the words that turn off buyers along with alternative words or phrases to take their place (We’d love to see you all contribute to a list of alternatives to use in place of buzz words).
Turn off buzzword Alternative
1on1-my room
Show-Cum see me alone
Private-Let’s go where no one can read our chat
Buy-Take me away from this madnessNo need to list them all.
When you catch yourself about to type a buzzword rethink it and type something else. Be creative.Along with buzz words goes pressure from you to make them buy. Imagine this scenario, a person goes into a strip club and before he can look around and get a feel for the club an anxious stripper comes up to him and grabs his hand and starts dragging him to the lap dance booth. What does he do? He reels back and says no! He wants to see the place, get comfortable and check out all the strippers first. Answering your chatters with instant demands for them to buy a show is the kiss of death to selling minutes. No one likes a pushy model; very few customers spend money on pushy models. Just because you have demanders and beggars in your chat doesn’t mean you should answer with begging and demanding. If there ever was a case of two wrongs don’t make a right, this is it! Be better than your chatters in your attitude; don’t stoop to their levels or methods.Within the performer application there are also automated messages you can send to your customers to save you time. This is a great way to seduce your customers into a private show.
USE AUDIO TO YOUR ADVANTAGE
The audio feature will enhance your private shows 100%. There is nothing more erotic to our customers than hearing our models moan their name as they manipulate themselves to an orgasm. With every single private show that you get you should ask the user what their real name is. The closer you get and the more you know about someone, the harder they will fall for you. That is how you gain loyal and exclusive customers. This makes the experience much more personal for the viewer. People will feel a lot closer to you being able to hear your voice.
If you are new and feel uncomfortable using audio, don’t worry. Just like anything, it gets better and easier the more you practice and gain experience as a performer. This is your show; you are the star. They are paying for your individual attention; make it work their money. If you run out of things to say, moan and groan. People love to hear someone demanding them to fuck them harder over and over again. Name repetition is also good. It is a fact that the more you say someone’s name, the more they will be psychologically attached to you.
10 Mistakes Webcam Models Make That Jeopardize Their Privacy.
1. Skimming through the manual or not reading it at all.
Most cam sites provide a lot of useful tips in their Performer Manual, including how to set up your geographic restrictions and make use of secure phone service. These are important details that will make you a smarter and safer camgirl.
Take the time to read the guides and the rules, and make use of every security feature your cam site of choice offers.
2. Chatting it up about current local events local news
Be careful when chatting. Some local news reports or noteworthy weather could give away your approximate location. I recommend avoiding these topics altogether, but if that isn’t possible just don’t get specific. Vague ambiguity is your friend.
3. Clicking on links provided by the customer.
True, it could be harmless. But it could also be there to grab your IP address, which would reveal your approximate location unless you’re using a proxy. If you don’t know what a proxy is or how to use one, just don’t click on your customers’ links.
4. Not paying attention to what the customers can see.
A simple view out the window could reveal your approximate location. If you’re using a wireless keyboard, never log in to personal accounts while it is visible to your guests. I know of one girl who inadvertently leaked her passwords to an observant visitor this way. Pay attention 😉
5. Accepting Paypal
There are so many issues with this one. It’s against the terms of service to use Paypal for adult related services. Stealing customers from your cam site could get you banned. And in terms of privacy, your customer will see whatever name is on the Paypal account (I would guess it’s yours).
6. Sharing an Amazon Wishlist so fans can send presents.
Some fans will want to send you presents. Maybe it’s a special occasion like your birthday, or maybe there is something specific that your customer wants to see you use or wear in a future session. As secure as Amazon may appear, your address could show up on someone’s receipt.
So, let’s get presents the smart way. If your cam site offers an internal wishlist service, use it – they’re looking out for your privacy. This is why you have a Twitter account in your performer name, right? 😉 Your smart customers will find you.
7. Sending mail to a customer.
Occasionally, a fan might request an autographed photo or a pair of your panties in the mail. Selling panties is a viable business model but I’ll talk about that in the future. Right now you just need to be aware that it’s easy for the recipient to figure out which post office processed the package.
Again, this gives away your approximate location and that’s not cool.
8. Trusting a regular customer.
You might develop a kind of relationship with one or a few of your customers, and at some point you may even feel like you know them well enough to trust them with something like your name. It’s only your first name, right? WRONG.
Have a fake real name ready for moments like that, and remember that you’re engaging your fan in a fantasy and an illusion. Your real name is sacred. NEVER reveal it.
Your phone number, address, place of work, and school are all pieces of information that could also lead to your identity. Keep that stuff to yourself.
9. Blabbing about family and friends.
It might make for great conversation, but don’t tell your guests what your family members do for a living. Keep all their information private as if it’s your own. If someone wants to “get to know you,” stick to vague and ambiguous. Or just make shit up lol.
10. “That pic I posted on my real Facebook account is so cute; I have to share it with my fans!”
If a photo has ever been or is currently connected with any of your real life accounts, do not share it with your fans. A quick Google image search can lead them right to those real life accounts. Keep photos of you and photos of your “model persona” completely separate.
Safety first 😉
